The AWD-e version will not be as efficient as the classic 2019 Prius (up to 53 MPG in L Eco), and will use an older nickel-metal hydride battery technology that is more resistant to cold instead of the Lithium-ion battery from FWD models. You will not have to pay a steep premium, at least. Even though Toyota has not disclosed its pricing or availability, AWD-e will be available in mid-range LE and XLE configurations. The XLE variant includes an extensive three-door intelligent key system, heated front seats and an option for an adaptive front lighting system.
Nor should you choose a Prius if you are cost conscious. Toyota is simultaneously launching its first Corolla Hybrid in the United States as a 2020 model. The Corolla Hybrid (below) is visually identical to its conventional equivalent, but combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with a compact battery. Nickel metal hydride to produce a total power of 121 hp without harming the valuable interior space of the car. Although the manufacturer has not quantified the fuel savings, he expects "at least" a combined 50MPG. You can even use it only as an electric vehicle on "short distances" like the ride through the parking lot.
There is no price for this greener Corolla at the moment, but it should arrive in the spring of 2019. The features of the current Corolla, including Alexa, the voice control commands, Apple CarPlay and Safety Sense 2.0, such as collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, track maintenance and detection of traffic signs.
