The largest diamond in the world discovered in Canada

[ad_1]

The largest natural diamond in North America has just been discovered by the Canadian mining company Dominion Diamond Mines. Sitting at 552 carats, the 33.74mm x 54.56mm stone was quarried from Dominion's Diavik mine; the same mine where the 187.7-carat diamond Diavik Foxfire (currently the second largest North American diamond discovered) was found.

The next step for the ultra-rare stones of Dominion Diamond Mines is to find the right partners to cut and polish the big stone. The stone will probably be divided into several stones to obtain record sales prices.

Stay tuned because we will keep you informed about the fate of this 552 carat stone.
