A photograph surrounding social media seems to show that Everton fans are celebrating the opening goal of Manchester City at Goodison Park.
With a lot of talk before the game, many Everton fans have had mixed feelings about their encounter with City.
Some fans had openly expressed their desire to lose their team in order to prevent Liverpool from taking the advantage over the title race.
Many Twitter users have posted and shared the picture believing that Blues fans could applaud at the opening of Aymeric Laporte's score at half-time.
The picture shows two Evertonian with arms raised and clenched fists clearly celebrating.
But ECHO discovered that it was a 3-1 photo taken by Everton on Brighton in November.
The photo that has been shared hundreds of times shows Everton fans celebrating a goal, but it was not the Frenchman's head.
The original photograph (below) was taken by the fan of Everton, Darren, and was shared on his Twitter account with the caption: "The Toffees Companion".

Marco Silva's Everton looked well improved on Wednesday, but he struggled again to defend a set that defeated champions.
There was also another late goal since Gabriel Jesus made it 2-0 at the last minute. It was just when Everton was trying to chisel an equalizer.
Most Toffee fans will not feel festive after their team 's eleventh loss, but their team has shown "real heart", according to Everton' s boss.
