Vis is working with KCB Bank Kenya and the Boda Boda Association for Security in Kenya (BAK) to digitize payments from motorcycle transport operators. The partnership begins with a three-month pilot project in which 100 cyclists from Boda Boda (motorcyclists) will be allowed to use Visa on mobile to make and receive payments. The free mobile payment service is expected to accelerate secure digital payments and financial inclusion of boda operators.
Mobile Visa is now available in Egypt, Ghana, India, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Tanzania. It is planned to launch soon Uganda, Zambia and other countries of Africa.
