Why Kate Middleton did not win a prize at the Chelsea Flower Show – but Meghan Markle's charity did it

The Duchess of Cambridge's garden at the Chelsea Flower Show was highly praised, including the beautiful reactions of the Queen and her children.

But despite the superb design and the important message that underlies it, he won no prize.

There is a very simple reason why Kate does not have a nice, brilliant reward to put on the fireplace – she has not been judged.

The Duchess's garden was this year's RHS flagship garden, which is not part of the contest.

However, a garden created by Camfed – a charity supported by Meghan Markle – won the gold award for the Space to Grow Gardens category.

As a normal participant in the competition, the garden could be judged like any other – and the judges were clearly impressed.

It has been reported that the organization, which helps educate women in Africa, has been banned from using photos of Meghan and Prince Harry as it would send "conflicting messages".

However, the charity stated that the reason they did not use photos is simply because the couple has nothing to do with the garden.

The Camfed Garden: "Give African Girls a Space to Grow"

Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were extremely supportive of Camfed's work, which helps girls continue their studies in rural areas of Africa.

A source told Fabulous Digital: "There is absolutely no rivalry here.

"Meghan and Prince Harry did not participate in the Camfed Garden design, and have no official role in the organization.

"They are in no way opposed to each other, partly because the garden of the Duchess of Cambridge is the garden of RHS and is not judged."

He was inspired by his childhood

A Camfed spokesman said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no involvement in the Camfed Garden, nor do they have an official role in our organization.

"For this reason, we would not publish a photo of Prince Harry with ACAM alumni because it represents an inaccurate association."

The gardens were judged by a small team of judges who went Saturday before the official opening of the event.

A representative from each garden has two minutes to introduce and explain his garden.
