Elare Moussa of HGTV admits that he "did not expect to get a divorce from his ex-wife and Flip or Flop Co-star, Christina Anstead after seven years of marriage.

At an appearance on RuPaul Last week, El Moussa revealed that the breakup was not something he could have imagined.

"It was a little what I had not planned in my life, but you know, I learned a lot," El Moussa said. "I can say that I am a much better person after going through what I went through. So, I would not change anything. "

El Moussa adds that it was his first marriage and that the couple had been bonded quite young. "I was 24 years old, she was 22 years old," continued El Moussa. "And then the day we met, we got connected pretty quickly and, you know, we built a life together."

El Moussa and Anstead got married in 2009 before parting in 2016. The former couple shares her two children, Taylor (8 years old) and Brayden (3 years old). Since then, Anstead has passed and walked the aisle with fellow TV, Ant Anstead. The two are now waiting for their first child together.

At RuPaul's request he would remarry again, El Moussa admitted that "if any one had asked [him] this question a few months ago, [he] would have said no. However, he reveals that he has "a hope" of finding this one. But that does not mean that he has found much luck in the dating field.

"I've never been so mentally, financially or spiritually – as if everything was perfect. So I'm walking on eggs when it comes to relationships, because everything is going so well, "he said. "My greatest feeling in life is this feeling of loss. I'm always afraid to fall in love, because I never want to deal with this feeling again. "

El Moussa and Anstead were last seen while shooting their HGTV series. according to InTouch Weekly, Anstead even managed to "smash some smiles" at the cameras, while El Moussa stood stoically.

In an interview shortly after the split, Anstead explained that his relationship with El Moussa had revealed that the two men were eager to work together on their HGTV series and that "everything is super positive and light."

"Tarek and I have worked together for 10 years and we will continue to work together," said Anstead at the time. "We get along really well at the moment."

In addition to keeping their two children at the forefront of their priorities and making tremendous progress in their new dynamic, she acknowledges that their past resentment has been abandoned for their positive attitude towards the future.

"We are going to be in everyone's life forever, so we just decided to put the past in the past and go forward," she said.
