Payment records for several Target stores were apparently down on Saturday afternoon.
There have been long lines of frustrated customers at Target stores in Exton, Pennsylvania and Mays Landing, New Jersey. Across the country, people have complained about similar registry accidents, from Washington, DC to Chicago, to Waxahachie, Texas.

Target through Twitter "We understand that customers are currently unable to shop at Target stores, and our teams are currently troubleshooting and we apologize for the inconvenience."
The company did not immediately provide details of the possible causes of the outage, but described it as a "system problem" and stated that it would provide updates "as soon as possible ".
