GOLDEN VALLEY, Minnesota – Targeted employees in Minnesota confirmed Saturday that the retail giant was experiencing a malfunction of their cash register systems nationwide.

The complaints on social media arrived around 13:00 people waiting in long lines, waiting for the purchase of their products.

Target Corporate subsequently announced that it was aware of the malfunction and was working to remedy the situation.

Around 4:14 pm on Saturday, Target spokeswoman Katie Boylan told KARE 11 that Target's records were fully online in all their stores.

The temporary breakdown earlier in the day was the result of an internal technology problem that lasted for about two hours. Our technology team worked quickly to identify and resolve the problem, and we apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused to our guests. After a thorough initial review, we can confirm that there is neither a data breach nor a security issue, and that no information of any kind whatsoever. Guest has not been compromised at any time. We appreciate all the members of our store team who have worked quickly to help customers and thank everyone involved for their patience.
