Taylor Bertolet scored two goals for the game's only goals, but missed three more attempts to be part of the New York lineup, as the Jets beat the Philadelphia Eagles 6-0 in a pre-season rehearsal Thursday night.

The send-off is yet to come for the Jets (2-2) after a chaotic summer of Bertolet, who replaced Chandler Catanzaro – who abruptly retired after the first pre-season game.

Bertolet was right on a 53-yard goal shot early in the first quarter, but 23 yards early in the second quarter. Marcus Cooper's interception of Eagles rookie Clayton Thorson helped set up the scoring.

Bertolet was left left on a 56 meters just before halftime. His 39 yards gave the Jets a 6-0 lead, while he was 5:10 in the third quarter. Bertolet then missed a 49-yard pass with 9:40 left and finished 5 with 8 attempts in three pre-season games and missed two of his four extra point attempts.

Thorson, a fifth Northwestern player, played the entire game for the Eagles (1-3). He finished 12 of 26 for just 84 yards and an interception.

Carson Wentz was again absent with the rest of Philadelphia starters, while veterans Josh McCown and Cody Kessler were not playing.

Trevor Siemian started as a quarterback for the Jets, with Sam Darnold and New York starters taking their revenge. Once the backup was over, Siemian had 5 goals out of 5 for 37 yards in his only run before losing to Luke Falk.

Falk finished 13 of his 18 yards for 91 yards in five sets, and outscored Davis Webb in training camp and preseason # 3.

Webb played all the second half and scored 18 of 23 goals for 176 yards. He was intercepted twice – by Josh Hawkins and Chris Worley.
