Peaceful, also known as De Son Vivant in French, is directed by Emmanuelle Bercot and stars Catherine Deneuve, Cécile de France and Benoît Magimel in the lead roles.
The film follows three characters, a son (Magimel) who is diagnosed with cancer, his mother (Deneuve) and her struggle with not being able to help her, and the nurse (from France) who tries to do her job.
Peaceful marks the third time that director Bercot has worked with Deneuve and Magimel on a production.
The Cannes Film Festival is now in its fifth day after being canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
