When Alexander Goldschmidt was planning to propose to his boyfriend, he knew that he had to incorporate their special song one way or another. Goldschmidt and his boyfriend, Ross Girard, love the song "King Of My Heart" from Taylor Swift. So Goldschmidt took a chance and sent Swift an email to find out if she would show up at their engagement party. She did it.

Goldschmidt asked the question during a hike Sunday in Los Angeles and Girard said yes. Then Goldschmidt quickly took his new fiancé to Sycamore Tavern, where he waited for another surprise. At the restaurant, the couple announced the news to their friends. Then Goldschmidt hit their friends with another big surprise: not only did he propose, but he invited Taylor Swift come and sing at the party.

"There is a secret with which I have not confided to anyone," Goldschmidt told his friends after his breakup. "And there was a person who is not here who has somehow played a role in all of this, and I would like to welcome my friend, Taylor."

After a short break, the room was filled with gasps. Taylor Swift was the "Taylor" Goldschmidt introduces nonchalantly. The 29-year-old pop star entered the bar with her acoustic guitar and a huge smile on her face.

Swift tried to explain his presence several times, but the crowd could not stop shouting with excitement. Eventually, they calmed down and she told them, "Then Alex sent me an email to tell him that he was going to do it and that there was a very special song for both of you called "King of My Heart," she says.

With that, Swift started singing the couple's song. The whole piece melted into the great romantic gesture that Goldschmidt had organized by email. Swift is no stranger to surprise fans with good deeds. She showed at the wedding of a couple from New Jersey after receiving a letter from one of their friends, asking him to perform.

The superstar once surprised about 40 unsuspecting people with a impromptu concert at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. And his philanthropy extends well beyond representations. In 2015, she sent Christmas gifts to fans, including the gift of pay off a girl's student loans. And in 2018, she invited 2,000 adopted and adopted children to watch his entire concert for free before his official launch.

Goldschmidt and Girard are now part of a group of fans that Swift has honored with his presence. Goldschmidt shared several photos and videos of the engagement surprise on his Instagram account, revealing in a caption that he was listening to "King Of My Heart" when he realized that he wanted to make a proposal. "I'll never come back," he wrote in another legend. "Nothing in life seems real and probably will never be again."

With such thoughtful surprise, it is not surprising that Girard said "yes" when the king of his heart offered him.
