It was a “Girls” weekend like no other.
Taylor Swift was the guest of honor this weekend at the secret wedding in London of her famous best friend, Lena Dunham, who married musician Luis Felber, sources exclusively told Page Six.
The “Wildest Dreams” singer did not perform at the intimate nuptials – which took place under strict COVID-19 protocols due to the “Girls” creator ‘s various health issues, sources said.
We’re also told that Swift, 31, attended without her longtime boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn.
“Lena and Luis wanted it to be very small and intimate, just for themselves, their family and their closest friends,” a source said.
Swift has spoken often of her love for Dunham, which she even starred in her 2015 music video for “Bad Blood” alongside a group of famous pop stars and models.
“It’s really wonderful to have someone like Lena Dunham in my life,” she once said. “We have the same responsibility and the same pressure on you when you write down every word you end up playing. “
Dunham’s parents, artists Laurie Simmons and Carroll Dunham, traveled to the UK for the wedding alongside his brother Cyrus Grace Dunham. Current guidelines meant they didn’t have to self-quarantine if they were vaccinated and only needed to be tested on the second day of their trip.
Felber’s parents, Alma and Roger Felber, who live in the UK, were also there with his sister but not his brother.
Sources said that due to concerns about COVID-19, all guests had to prove they were vaccinated and had to undergo “side flow” tests to show they had no trace of the virus.
Masks were also made available to all guests.
Dunham is immunocompromised and recently wrote that life has been extremely difficult for her amid the pandemic.
She has battled a range of illnesses, including severe endometriosis which led to a hysterectomy in 2018. She suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a chronic illness and contracted COVID-19 in March 2020.
Living in the British capital for almost two years, she recently wrote on Instagram about a new cafe she discovered where she ventures “into civilization” about once a month.
She added: “I’ve been in London long enough to feel like I should have become the Queen of Tea, the Princess of Carnaby Street, the mistress of Georgian architecture and late night curry.
“But, like many immunocompromised people, pre-pandemic life hasn’t resumed for me, there hasn’t been a hot summer and most of the places I frequent are between my bathroom, my room and the less populated parts of the park. “
We first revealed that Dunham and Felber, both 35, were dating in June.
