Taylor Swift teased a clip of her new take on “Wildest Dreams,” in the trailer for the upcoming animated film, Untamed spirit.
Swift posted a handful of snippets from the trailer to her Instagram Story on Friday, March 12 (enterprising fans have since uploaded and assembled the clips on YouTube). While the music certainly competes with a fair amount of dialogue, there is enough of it to get a good idea of what “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” looks like. The epic essence of 1989 the trail hasn’t been lost, and it looks like Swift has boosted that sweeping feel even more with much heavier drums.
It is not known when Swift plans to release “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” in its entirety. If it remains tied to Untamed spirit, it could get closer to the film’s June 4 release date.
“Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” marks the second song Swift has released in her quest to re-record her first six albums in order to reclaim her music. Swift announced its decision to do so in 2019 after Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired Swift’s former label, Big Machine Label Group, in a $ 300 million deal. Last November, it was reported that Bruan had sold Swift’s catalog to Shamrock Holdings, a private equity firm, in a global deal worth $ 300 million.
In December, Swift teased the new take on her 2008 hit, “Love Story,” in a Match commercial created by actor Ryan Reynolds’ new company, Maximum Effort Productions. The full song arrived in February.
