“Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” debuted at number 1 on this week’s Hot Country Songs chart, according to Billboard.
The song is shockingly the first No. 1 debut for Swift in this chart. This is also his 8th career # 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, the latest being “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in 2012.
“Love Story” originally appeared on Swift’s 2008 album “Fearless”. Swift worked hard to re-record this album after losing the rights to her pre-“Lover” main recordings from 2019 after their sale to a company owned by music director Scooter Braun. (Braun’s company sold them in late 2020.)
Swift’s re-recording – titled “Fearless (Taylor’s version)” – will be released on April 9.
