Love at a distance is not easy, even if you are The Bachelorette.

Former program manager and current co-host of The bachelorette Tayshia Adams – who found love with Zac Clark in the dating contest last year – has appeared on podcast on how helping Katie Thurston on her romantic journey took a toll on her own relationship.

“It’s hard to be in a new relationship and be gone for a few weeks, you know what I mean?” Adams shared with the Bachelor Nation alum. “And it is I who am real and honest.”

Adams explained that because Thurston’s season was so close to his own, it was difficult to deal with his emotions.

“I would even text Zac and say, ‘I think of us through this thing. I think about how stressed you are, like, with me, on a date or how I felt, ”she shared. “It was hard for me, I cried a lot.”

Adams’ admission comes days after she and Clark, who split their time between New York City and California, celebrated their first birthday by making each other for each other for The bachelorette.

Adams wrote to his love: “About 365 days ago I met you! It’s been a mad rush so far with our lives at a million miles an hour, but how lucky are we to have had an amazing week together at the place where it all began AND we were able to renew our wishes a year later ?! SAVAGE.”

Clark, meanwhile, wrote in his own post: “I hope your wish has come true and I hope you take a minute to breathe and appreciate all that YOU have done in the 365 days since our visit. You’ve done more in a year than most in a lifetime. “

Despite the emotional hurdles the couple had to overcome when they were apart, Adams said that she and Clark are doing “so well”.

“It was so much fun living in New York City,” she explained. “And, you know, with the world finally sort of opening up a bit to where we can go out for dinner and go on dates and stuff like that, New York life is in. is giving Orange County / LA a hard time. “
