Awaceb, a Kowloon Nights-funded studio, presented the first major look at Tchia, his next open-world island adventure, as part of Sony’s PlayStation Showcase on Thursday. The game has a release window of 2022 and is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and 5.

TchiaThe first trailer makes it seem like you’ll be able to climb, swim, sail your boat, and use a Breath of the wild-esque glider while you explore the world. In addition to all this, you will be able to use the magical powers of the protagonist Tchia to transport your soul into the body of the animals and take control of it.

The trailer begins with two characters sitting next to each other, while one of them plays the ukulele and sings a peaceful song. Next thing we know, Tchia stalks a seagull with a bright green eye; suddenly, Tchia is transported in the body of the bird and takes off. The images then show the character jumping from animal to animal.

Tchia was actually one of ten games to be signed to the Kowloon Night investment fund, and it was previously known as “Project Caillou”. The trailer says the game was inspired by New Caledonia, a French territory made up of dozens of small islands in the South Pacific which is also the location of the developer’s studio.
