A parent whose child attends the Watson B. Duncan Middle School in Palm Beach Gardens approached the school administrators after his student showed him a multiple-choice question that was part of the quiz, according to the Affiliate of CNN, WPTV.

The question was: "45th president; 2017; Republican; real estate business man; silly." The possible answers were Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan.

The quiz, which is still active online, was administered on a mobile and web study application called Quizlet. The software trains students using digital flash cards and a variety of games and tests.

"Quizlet study sets are created by individual users, each of whom controls both the content of the study material, as well as the people who can view and modify the content of the study he or she has created. Quizlet said in a statement to CNN on Thursday.

Phillip D'Amico, director of Watson B. Duncan Middle School, sent a letter to parents this week after he was informed of the quiz through the latter's complaint, according to the school district from Palm Beach.

"A question on a quiz given yesterday by the teacher of your child's computer applications was brought to my attention this morning," writes the director in a letter that the district sent to CNN via email. "The question was inappropriate and showed an unacceptable lack of good judgment on the part of the teacher.A survey is underway and the teacher has been reassigned during this process.

"As it is an open investigation, I am not free to share additional details with you at this point.I apologize for this incident and for the offensive verbiage used in the question Thank you for your patience and your continued support Watson B. Duncan Middle School ".

The teacher, who has not been identified, remains employed in the district while awaiting the results of an internal investigation and has been reassigned to a place where contacts with the students are excluded, said the school district to CNN.

In addition, the parent who complained to the administration asked to remain anonymous, according to WPTV.
