Teams respond to a residential structure fire in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a fire at a residential structure on Saturday afternoon.

According to a statement from the Eau Claire Fire Department, at 1:33 p.m. on Saturday, the Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 512 Hobart Street for a residential structure fire.

A medical unit from Eau Claire Fire, consisting of three firefighters, was in the area and was the first on the scene seconds after dispatch.

Firefighters were able to quickly locate the blaze and enter the smoky apartment where they found an unconscious man.

The man was rescued from the structure and taken to a local hospital. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control and extinguish it within minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The estimated damage from the fire is $ 10,000.
