The White House faces severe criticism after revealing it was working with Facebook to report posts that disseminate “disinformation.” Senator Ted Cruz called President Biden in an interview with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner for acts he said violated the Constitution. Cruz explains why Biden’s efforts to silence disinformation aided former President Trump’s lawsuit against Big Tech.

SLAM LA MAISON BLANCHE CRITICISMS AFTER PSAKI REVEALS FACEBOOK TO “REPORT BAD INFORMATION”

SENATOR TED CRUZ: The Biden administration believes in power. They want to have the power to silence you. They want the power to silence any criticism. I have to admit, for a politician, if you could make all your detractors go away and be unable to criticize yourself, that would be pretty good. But it is against the Constitution. It is contrary to the First Amendment. It is contrary to a free democracy. But the Biden administration is making Big Tech the arm to silence critics. The main arguments they have in their defense are that they are private companies, not the government. And the First Amendment only applies to government. Well, there is one exception to that, the Supreme Court has long recognized, and that is that the government cannot use a private company to implement government policy. And here is what they are doing. Here, Biden’s White House is asking Big Tech monopolies, “Please shut up, block, disappear any view we disagree with. And I think that’s patently illegal. It is also an abuse of power which is really contrary to the principles on which our country was built.
