The director of Hulu’s new “69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez” says the quest for “likes” and influence online has turned the rapper “into a monster.”

“Danny invented a Tekashi 6ix9ine character with a criminal mindset, shock value, a nihilistic way of looking at the world,” Gandhi told us. “He created the ultimate troll who could access young people and trigger everyone emotionally.”
Tekashi was released from federal prison in April due to COVID.
