Bandai Namco has revealed that Tekken 7 will add a new character, the Prime Minister of Poland to the Tekken Universe, as a new upcoming DLC character.

Bandai Namco teased a brand new Tekken 7 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) character from Poland at the 2nd Annual Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable in Japan. Katsuhiro Harada explained that they had this idea since Poland had several women as prime minister in its history. So they wanted to add one to Tekken. She is obviously not named or based on a real prime minister.

This new character will be released in early spring 2021.

Harada also stated that he was actually collaborating with the Polish Embassy in Japan for the character. He also went to Poland in 2020. Everything he was supposed to go there got canceled with corona, tournaments and everything, so he just toured. Harada added jokingly, “I spent the Bandai Namco money and paid nothing out of my pocket.” He mentioned that he had several relationships with embassies like this one.

Live, Harada said more details and a real reveal of Poland’s new character will come later.

The very short trailer for the new Tekken 7 character from Poland can be found below. The character speaks Polish, like everything Tekken the characters speak in the language of their country of origin. The trailer started at the 1:26:21 timestamp on the Japanese stream.

By the way, just before the reveal of the trailer, Harada joked about how a lot of Capcom developers or gamers like Tokido all end up doing a “Vega pose” in their photos.

Overall, Harada kept joking like this throughout the stream and it was really fun to watch. If you knew at least Japanese. As the English stream had several sound issues at the start. The Japanese stream also had its fair share of issues, with some trailers playing without sound. Or Ishiwatari Daisuke’s mic is insanely bad. Ultimately, however, it’s important to keep in mind how a miracle this roundtable is. Although fighting game developers have always known each other, we would never see them discussing publicly like this in the past.

Harada also recently shared that he would like to do a sequel to Smallpox One day.

Tekken 7 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
