A “technical issue” is primarily disrupting video services for Spectrum customers in Hawaii.
Spectrum spokesperson Dennis Johnson said in an emailed statement that “engineers are working to restore service as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers.”
Johnson did not immediately respond to questions about the extent of the outage.
Most of the complaints seem to be about TV channels that aren’t working, according to websites like Is the Service Down? and Outage Report, which monitor communications services by collecting data from social media.
The most significant blackout hotspots appear to be in the central areas of Oahu and Honolulu, according to site outage maps, and the hotspots appear to affect more populated areas in other counties as well.
