Ten Years of Facebook Employee Data: Who’s Up, Who’s Down

Facebook Inc. has grown at an explosive rate. Since 2012, when it went public, the total number of employees has grown an average of 38% per year, reaching 63,404 in June, according to company documents.

This expansion has helped the company bring together more than a third of the world’s population as users and swallow up ever more digital ad dollars. In recent years, facing criticism of issues on its platforms, CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other executives have touted Facebook’s hiring of tens of thousands of people to review content and enforce its rules.
