Tennessee shooting at Soaky Mountain water park kills 2; 3 detainees: police officers

Shots on Saturday night at a popular Tennessee water park left at least two women injured, with authorities holding at least three people for questioning, according to a report.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. in the parking lot at Soaky Mountain Water Park in Sevierville, about 25 miles southeast of Knoxville, WBIR-TV of Knoxville reported.

An argument apparently led to the gunfire, Knoxville’s WATE-TV reported.

The two injured women were taken to hospitals, according to the report. Their medical conditions were not immediately known.

The three people held for questioning included the suspected gunman, WBIR reported.

A spokesperson for the water park said officials were cooperating fully with Sevierville police as an investigation continued.
