Terrence Howard broke his silence following the arrest of his co-starred "Empire," Jussie Smollett, and told fans: "The Jussie I know could never even conceive of anything like" as unconscious. "
Howard, who plays Lucious Lyon in the hip-hop drama, expressed his support for his son on screen in a message posted on Instagram Saturday.
"All your little friends got you … We love hell on you," says Howard in a video of the 36-year-old actor playing with Howard's young son, Hero.
Howard has also fiercely defended Smollett against fans who are critical of his support.
"Sorry, but it's the only Jussie I know," he wrote in a response to a fan. "The Jussie I know could never even conceive of something so unconscious and ugly. His innocence or judgment does not belong to us.
"Stay in your hallway, and this path is empathy, love and compassion for someone I have called my son for five years. It is up to God to judge and love and hope, especially for those we claim to have loved. "
Smollett, who plays Lyon's second son, Jamal, in the hit series Fox, was arrested last week for disorderly conduct for allegedly staging his own hate attack in Chicago.
He claimed that a pair of assailants had sprayed him with bleach, threw him a noose around his neck while shouting at him: "f", "n" – " and "it's the country of MAGA! "January 29th.
The other co-stars of Smollett, whose mother on the screen, Taraji P. Henson, who plays the role of Cookie Lyon, remained silent following his arrest.
On Friday, Fox announced that he was scrambling Jamal Lyon's character in the last two episodes of Season 5, which should resume in March.
