Twitter responds to Triton fans' cast by Terry Crews
Twitter users use the #ArielsGotTerry hashtag to reinforce Crews' demand to play Triton. Himself used the hashtag to publish a comic picture, with photoshopping, of what Crews might look like as King Triton.

Fans seem excited to have Terry Crews in the role of King Triton. Crews has no problem with the muscular build that embodies the royal ocean. Twitter user Judie Levine highlighted these similarities in an image combining one of Terry Crews' photoshoots on men's health with Triton.

Other Twitter users suggest other casting choices for King Triton, instead of Crews. Popular suggestions include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (thanks, Sydne Clark) and Idris Elba (thanks, Kirbie Johnson)
Okay, we had our little mermaid. Now we need a petition to make Terry Crews or The Rock King Triton. #The little Mermaid #HalleBailey pic.twitter.com/kxf9AGzONI

All we know about Disney's live action The Little Mermaid
According to rumors, Melissa McCarthy would be in talks to play the villain, Ursula. Pirates of the Caribbean: The director of Stranger Tides, Rob Marshall, has been responsible for leading the live adaptation, whose production is expected to begin in early 2020. We are also planning a more comprehensive casting list in the near future, with some ads potentially saved for Disney's D23 Expo in August.
The adaptation of The Little Mermaid is just one of many Disney live movies currently under development. Other live adaptations include Mulan from 2020 and a live version of The Lion King, whose release date is July 18, 2019. Do not miss the first Mulan trailer below.
The last live Disney movie was Aladdin. In our review of Aladdin, we called the movie "OK" saying, "Aladdin is an adaptation as safe as we've seen it coming out of Disney, which is a little disappointing given that most of what he adds to the story works pretty well. "
