LOS ANGELES (AP) – Tesla 's CEO, Elon Musk, will have to stand trial to defend himself for being mocked by a British pedophile, during a verbal fight that took place there. last summer after the underwater rescue of young football players imprisoned in a cave in Thailand.

A Federal Court judge in Los Angeles has set a date for the October 22 trial in a court on Friday that rejected Musk's attempt to overturn a defamation suit filed by British diver Vernon Unsworth.

Musk called Unsworth "pedo" in a July 15 issue on this Twitter account after Unsworth rejected Musk's attempts to help rescue football players as a "public relations cascade".

Musk claimed that his insult was protected from prosecution, but the judge in charge of the case did not agree.
