Tesla launches full self-drive subscription option

If you own a Tesla, you’ll probably know that adding the company’s “Full Self-Driving” feature, an NHTSA Level 2 driver assistance feature, would cost a lot: $ 10,000, to be exact. From now on, electronic driving assistance will be available on subscription for $ 99 or $ 199 per month, depending on the vehicle.

This information was gleaned from Tesla’s support page, which has been updated to reflect the price of the subscription. To subscribe to the full self-drive feature, you must have autopilot. If you have Basic Autopilot, you’ll pay $ 199 per month. With Enhanced Autopilot, it will be $ 99 per month.

So instead of paying $ 10,000 up front, you will pay a little less than $ 1,200 or a little less than $ 2,400. You will already need to have the Full Self-Driving Computer available on your Tesla; if it is missing, you can choose to download it from the Schedule Service section of the Tesla app. This material will cost an additional $ 1,500.
