There are many ways to compare cars. In most cases, once you define a body type and a specific price range (vehicle class), there is little difference between the options.
Toyota Camry c. Honda Accord c. Nissan Altima – what's the difference? BMW 3 Series vs. Audi A4 vs. Mercedes-Benz C Class? Again, the differences are largely in style or slight variations in functionality.
The Tesla Model 3 compared to one of these cars is a totally different game.
Acceleration
The model 3 acceleration is disconnected from the chain. You can watch the times from 0 to 60 mph and see that the model 3 easily beats all the competitions, but even that does not catch it.
I'm sure the 0 to 30 mph times (which are much more relevant for normal daily driving) are even better for Model 3, as well as 0 to 15 mph.
The key is that everything is a matter of instant torque. Electric cars have it. Gasmobiles not. There is simply no comparison between an electric car and a gas car. Tesla's Model 3 is just another staggering level thanks to Tesla's obsessive efforts to break acceleration records.
The small story: if acceleration counts for you, the Tesla Model 3 wins.
Side note: There are many versions for Camry, Accord and Altima. I've tried to find the trims that best fit the 3 Tesla model in terms of performance and special features.
Driving quality / driving
This is a more subjective but a great feature. Driving quality and driving quality are important for long-term happiness with the car. Again, you can not really compare an electric car to a gas car. Electric cars benefit from a very quiet and fluid powertrain – no roaring, mumbling or roaring.
Tesla has mastered vehicle engineering so well that the maneuverability of the Model 3 also gives it the impression of a race car. The car has excellent weight distribution, traction control and suspension that make it one of the most enjoyable ducts on the market, for an incredibly low price.

Ultimately, these are fuel economy ratings for Tesla vehicles that do not appear to belong to the same table as the ratings assigned to their petrol competitors.
Technology
The Tesla Model 3 offers a different age and technology than the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. For many of us, Model 3 feels like a "21st century vehicle" while others feel like "20th century vehicles". For others, well, they prefer the technology of the 20th century.
Overall, when you consider the Tesla autopilot, the awesome navigation system, the music player options, the Easter eggs and the giant touch screen, I think that model 3 is back in league A, while the others are in League C. But this is clearly one of the areas where there is simply a divergence in individual preferences.
Convenience
I drive a 71 km electric car (BMW i3 REx 2015), I do not have a charge at home and I consider this car is more convenient than a gas car. All I need to do is plug in the car when I go to the store, the mall, the park or the beach. I also receive guaranteed parking spaces in the right places. It takes a few seconds to plug in – and my 4 year old girl really likes to be the one who plugs in and out anyway. I almost never have to go to a smelly, dirty and expensive gas station, which is a major relief and … convenience.
The Model 3 is even better than my old BMW i3 since it offers hundreds of kilometers of range (instead of 71) and can also use ultra-fast charging when traveling on the road or at night. Other times if necessary (via Tesla Superchargers). Oh yes, and if you charge at home or at your workplace, any experience of the electric car becomes almost unthinking.
Although there has been a lot of talk about "Distance Distance Anxiety" over the last decade, it has been about seven years since I was shocked by the fact that this media coverage usually misses the point. disadvantage of sometimes have to use a public charging station that slows you down. This can happen, of course, but the net result of owning an electric car is usually more convenience, not less.
Cost
The tables shared earlier in this article show the cash prices as well as the cost after savings estimated over 6 years (subsidies and non-use of gasoline).
The bottom line is that the Tesla Model 3 Standard and Tesla Model 3 Standard Plus are cost competitive compared to the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima when you factor in the estimated savings. The shocking thing is that you get so much more for essentially the same long-term price.
As for the Toyota Camry XSE V6, you can get a mid-range 3 model or a long-life 3 model for essentially the same cost – if Tesla's savings are right for you or you could benefit even more ( many buyers subsidize the state and utilities or because they drive a lot or pay more for gasoline).
Of course, there is no point in paying more for extra battery life (more batteries) if you do not need that extra battery life. Personally, I would choose the standard 3 plus model and then pocket thousands of dollars compared to the purchase of a Camry XSE V6, which you will remember as it is slower, less safe, less technical, less pleasant to drive and less convenient Model 3 Standard or Model 3 Standard Plus.
Of course, buying a car depends on many subjective factors. Model 3 is not suitable for everyone. However, the high-end options of Camry, Accord and Altima are so overwhelmed by high-end options that it's hard to understand why anyone would settle for one of these options when they could get a model.
