A Tesla Model S with a yoke steering wheel was taken from the wild, giving the public a first glimpse of Tesla’s futuristic stemless steering column.

A dark blue metallic Model S with a refreshed interior, including wraparound wood door trim, revised dashboard display and horizontal center touchscreen, and Tesla’s highly anticipated Yoke steering wheel, was spotted on Saturday. in downtown Redwood City in Silicon Valley.

Photos captured by The Kilowatts reveal a Model S with maker’s plates, indicating that the company may be in the final stages of public testing before rolling out the updated flywheel design to production vehicles.

The absence of a traditional stem and the familiar Tesla dual scroll wheels are notable in the photos of the Yoke steering wheel. While Tesla showcased the capacitive touch functions in the Model S and Model X refresh steering wheel illustrations, the markings for the turn signals and driving functions were not visible in the candidate version spotted.

What appears to be a production-ready driver and passenger section of the Model S, a refined rear passenger space, clad in Tesla’s famous Vegan white interior and highlighted by the company’s latest touchscreen at the rear, was clearly evident.

In photos shared by The Kilowatts, the Model S’s split rear seat folding button can also be seen, along with a more prominent side-repeater camera.

Tesla revealed new images of the refreshed 2021 S and X Models earlier this year after months of speculation the company would update the aging interior design of its flagship vehicles.
