Tesla raises prices for next European batch of Model S and Model X – spark update rumors

[ad_1]

Tesla has significantly increased the prices of the next European batch of Model S and Model X vehicles.

This is sparking rumors of refreshment.

Tesla owners across Europe report that the automaker has updated its online configurator with a big price increase across the board.

Model 3 has a smaller price increase between $ 500 and $ 1000, but the S and X models experience much larger price increases.

Prices vary by market, but the price for both vehicles is around € 5,000 ($ 6,000) more after the update.

In Germany, the Model S now starts around € 82,000 or the equivalent of $ 98,000:

This price increase follows significant price reductions for these vehicle programs in the United States.

The Model S now costs about $ 30,000 more in Germany than in the United States. The former includes taxes in the price, but taxes in Germany will drop to 19% in 2021 – which technically makes the increase even more significant.

The increase in Europe is for the next batch of Model S and Model X vehicles Tesla plans to produce, and they won’t be delivered until March 2021.

In the United States, prices remain at the same lowest level, but Tesla announces a three to five week lead time for new orders.

This brings back rumors of an update of the Model S and Model X programs.

With the Model S Plaid arriving at the end of next year with the new structural battery design, Tesla would have a larger update to fit a completely different platform.

We have already reported on Tesla’s secret “Palladium” project, which involves some of these updates.

Recently, we mentioned that we were hearing rumbles about a refresh of the interior of the Model S / X in early 2021.

An interior refresh that was supposed to happen last year but was delayed could finally happen.
