(Reuters) – Tesla Inc (TSLA.OThe title revealed that CEO Elon Musk had announced plans to deliver 100,000 cars during the quarter. The company announced that it would launch a software update to watch movies and play car games.
The electric car maker is expected to provide details of its quarterly vehicle deliveries next week.
Musk said the goal was to put the vehicles in the hands of customers who could take delivery by the end of the month, reported Electrek, citing an internal email. (Bit.ly/2ltUmuU)
Tesla did not respond to a request for comment.
The new version of the software for its electric cars will be launched this week and will support multimedia streaming, including Spotify, TuneIn and Slacker as long as it is parked and connected to WiFi. (Bit.ly/2n0cmxg)
The update will be broadcast remotely to cars through an update over the air, similar to software updates on smartphones.
