Toscana, the ship carrying Giga Shanghai’s Model 3 vehicles to Europe, has finally arrived in Zeebrugge, Belgium. The Tesla ship was carrying around half of the 7,000 Chinese-made Model 3s that Giga Shanghai exported to Europe at the end of last month.

Tesla ship tracker Morten Grove reported Toscana’s arrival in Zeebrugge. “Toscana, the very first Tesla ship from China arrived in Zeebrugge with the MIC Model 3 SR + on board for Europe,” he tweeted. Grove also noted that Toscana had made a port alongside Grand Aurora, a ship that carried refreshed Model 3s from Tesla’s Fremont plant in the United States.

Tuscany began its journey in late October with a memorial ceremony in Shanghai that saw Tesla China hold a small celebration for the Model 3’s trip to Europe. At the event, it was announced that the Chinese-made Model 3 has met all certification requirements for the European market and is licensed to sell its vehicles in the region.

As such, Toscana’s arrival marks another milestone in the Giga Shanghai ramp. Tesla China has made a significant contribution to the company’s three consecutive profitable quarters this year and looks set to do the same in the fourth quarter.

Tesla China’s Model 3 exports to Europe are expected to increase over the coming year. Recent reports indicate that the electric car maker would have produced 550,000 vehicles from Giga Shanghai in 2021, of which around 110,000 will be shipped to Europe.
