Tesla Software V10 wins Internet

Ten days ago, I was able to take advantage of the Tesla V10 vehicle software, and I have been suffering since I waited for my car to get the upgrade. The banquet of wonderful, beautiful, exciting, boring and fun new features is perhaps the best software update of this Tesla vehicle to date. I've already written about most of the improvements from this previous article. However, there are some updates that I have not noticed (or known) at the time, so here are some updates (about the updates):

Spotify! Tesla owners in the United States have been asking Tesla to ask for Spotify for years. (Europeans ahemhave the functionality for years. Some people there said that it was what they preferred with a Tesla – including this Tesla hearse pilot.) Well, finally, Tesla owners in the United States can also play Spotify directly via Tesla's touch screen (and sound system).

In the public relations language of Tesla (which is a little different from his NSFW Twitter language and his cries):

"We are expanding our music and audio platform to allow access to Spotify Premium accounts in all supported markets – one of the most requested features by Tesla owners. This will be in addition to Slacker Radio and TuneIn, which are also available in Tesla vehicles. "

As usual, China does things a little differently. In the Chinese market, owners have access to Ximalaya.

I receive streaming access and a browser! As you may know, I have the poor man's Tesla, the Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR +). No, I do not complain (or do not complain to me too much), but the purchase of Teslas at high equilibrium presents some benefits worthy of lust. For example, I did not have a browser or a streaming music service. That's all: the radio or what I have on my phone. Fortunately, Tesla determined that it was cruel and now gives us access to modest SR + owners with streaming media and browser. Woohoo! That said, it seems that streaming music options are only available when the car is parked. Hmmm. Here are Tesla's deets:

"To take advantage of the advanced multimedia features of software version 10.0, we also allow browser access on all Standard Plus and Standard 3 Series 3 vehicles. The update will also enable streaming." media to Spotify, TuneIn and Slacker during parking and Wi-Fi connection to these cars. "

Security / Sentinel Mode Booster: Previously, you had to browse a multitude of Tesla camera recordings to find recordings in Sentry mode. Tesla realized that it was not ideal when you want to know quickly who typed, sounded or drooled on your car. The solution:

"To make it easier to manage USB storage for our Dashcam and Sentry features, recorded video clips while your vehicle is protected by Sentry mode will now be stored in a separate folder on your USB drive. Old clips will also be automatically deleted if your storage is insufficient. "

Thank you, Tesla.

The feature that excites me the most is the Tesla Theater. Although, although I insisted on Netflix and YouTube last week, I neglected to mention Hulu / Hulu + Live TV. If you practice Hulu, good for you, you can also have fun in your Tesla! In addition, Chinese owners will not be forced to stare at a black screen of YouTube or Netflix. They have access to iQiyi and Tencent videos. (Note that Tencent has about 5% of Tesla.)

I was very lucky tonight. I walked along Sesame Street, occupying my own belongings, when I suddenly found myself in a Tesla Model 3 with Tesla's new V10 software. I know, I know – you should not talk to strangers. But when you have an opportunity like this, just grab it.

Let's review the various improvements made to Tesla vehicles in the V10.

Copper

Cuphead joins the various games of the Tesla Car Arcade.

Nothing says for the moment if the Sentry mode will register you when you commit various crimes as Cuphead or Mugman. Proceed with caution.

Improvements in navigation

Tesla's minimalism is wonderful, but Tesla's navigation features have always been a bit … rare. It's nice to see that more information about the destination will be displayed, that the autocomplete will include the distance to the location and that zone 51 is an extraterrestrial center.

The intelligent improvement of Sentry mode also seems useful. These live software updates are proving to be a good idea, is not it?

Easter eggs browsing

A more interesting and fun update of the navigation is a new "feel lucky" feature – or two of them.

Click on the "Hungry" button and navigation will launch a restaurant suggestion. (Does the car have tasted food before recommending it? Unlikely. Do you offer restaurants with decent online rations? They seem to be. Are you really going to let the car decide where to eat? Of course you are.)

Click on the "Lucky" button and the navigation system suggests nearby attractions. While playing with it for a few minutes, it was interesting to see the range of suggestions – from simple parks to legitimate tourist attractions. Suggestions can also be made in other cities in the area, so expect to see places you do not know.

Joe Mode!

"Joe Mode" is something that I wanted almost every day with Model 3 except that I would call it "Julia Mode". The car chimes rarely (if ever) really wake our little girl napping, but it's often a concern – and having a toddler get up before the nap time n & # 39; Is not fun. #Thank you, Tesla!

This screenshot also contains other minor but potentially useful elements, depending on your needs.

Improved Summon

The improved invocation is really bad. It's awesome. It's not perfect yet, but it's one of the coolest things I've seen in or from a Tesla. It's also super scary. I did not record any excerpt to preserve the privacy of the vehicle owner. Tesla wants this information not to be saved until it is ready for distribution. But for real – this thing is cool.

Tesla and Caraoke Theater

As disclosed by Elon Musk himself, watching Netflix in the car is like sitting in his own home theater. The sound quality of the car's premium speakers makes it an incredible experience. All I thought was that there will be a large number of people who will never want to leave their Teslas. Did you think that long trips on the Tesla road and camping in your car were popular before? It's about to become uncontrollable.

Watching a YouTube video for a while, you can see the difference between a non-Hollywood sound and a Hollywood sound, but the Tesla touch screen is also a great place for YouTube. I would love to try different types of videos to see how they play and sound, but we did not spend all night and, honestly, I could not help thinking how c & # 39; It was amazing to watch Netflix in the car and how. this will transform what a car means for people.

Caraoke? !! My daughters are going to have a new favorite feature in the Tesla. Goodbye, Beach Buggy. Hello Caraoke.

Automatic lane change and automatic pilot lane marking

I will come back for a separate article, but the main point of this update is that the automatic lane change improves and the visualizations for the autopilot improve. Stay tuned to find out more. (There is nothing innovative, but it's interesting to see how Tesla continues to progressively improve this system.)
