Tesla updated its online design studio Monday night with several price and option changes across its range.
Some things become cheaper, others more expensive and several variants disappear.
Over the past year, Tesla has been constantly adjusting its prices, particularly in the United States, as its federal tax credit has been progressively reduced after receiving 200,000 deliveries of electric cars in the United States.
The manufacturer has also added and removed with frenzy various variants of its model vehicles 3, S models and X models.
For example, Tesla dropped its newly introduced Standard Range S model after only 3 weeks before reintroducing it.
In a new update line, Tesla has once again destroyed the "Standard Range" versions of Model S and Model X.
The California-based electric car manufacturer now offers only "Long Range" and "Performance" versions of the S and X models:
This means that the S model starts at $ 80,000 and the X model at $ 85,000.
In addition, Tesla offers the "Ludicrous" package, which allows 2.4 seconds acceleration to 0-60 mph on the Model S Performance, standard on all its Model S and X performances.
It was previously an option of $ 20,000.
In addition, Tesla changed its standard paint color from black to white, as announced by CEO Elon Musk last month.
Surprisingly, the manufacturer has not reintroduced a standard white color, he instead opted for the 'Pearl White Multi Coat', which was previously a $ 1,500 option, the new standard color.
This is also true for Model 3, which is also experiencing changes in options and prices:
The base model 3 shown on the Tesla website remains the standard plus range and now stands at $ 38,990 with pearl white instead of black.
Technically, it is a price reduction of $ 1,000 before posting the paint change.
Tesla confirmed to Electrek that the long-range rear wheel drive, model 3, which was previously available as an "off-menu" item, was discontinued.
The automaker has told us that the standard Model 3 range is still available on the menu in North America.

I think this is the third significant change in pricing and options in 2019. Tesla's chaotic pricing strategy is kind of a joke going on at this point.
There is some good and bad news in this update.
The good news is that the most economical model 3, the Standard Plus range, is a little cheaper, even if you have to do it in white.
As for the bad news, the base prices of the S and X models are now well up.
However, the performance version is now a much better offer with Ludicrous mode included. Although Tesla has already offered free to owners who modernized their cars.
This has never been a starting point since Ludicrous has become a software upgrade since the beginning of this year, when Tesla began streamlining the production of Model S and Model X. I hope well that no one has bought this upgrade for $ 20,000.
I bet this update is intended to further streamline it and I would not be surprised if there is no material difference between the Long Range and Performance versions either.
As for the pearly white, it's good to have a standard multilayer, but I do not get it from the point of view of the cost reduction of Tesla. It's definitely more expensive.
I would not be surprised if it changes again soon.
In short, I think we can expect several more changes in addition to these, especially with regard to the Model S and Model X ranges.
With regard to model 3, the standard range plus is now a better offer, which could be a good driver of demand. However, I would like Tesla to bring back a Long Range RWD version and introduce a Standard Range AWD version.
