Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave further updates on the rollout of Full Self-Drive Version 10 due out on Friday and how the automaker plans to expand its test group to the beta version of FSD.
The beta program launched in late 2020 and gave a small number of Tesla drivers the opportunity to experience Tesla’s most robust FSD software to date. Since then, Tesla has expanded the test group to produce more data as the semi-autonomous driving software has improved through software updates.
On September 1, Musk announced that FSD Beta 10 would release on Friday, September 10, with a public request button coming two weeks later. The button would allow drivers who use Tesla’s FSD suite to enroll in the beta program.
Musk has finally shed some light on the quality of the new beta for pilots after saying that FSD 9.2 is “not great”. Musk said FSD 10 will “blow your mind”.
The build I’m running right now is almost here. FSD 10 will blow your mind.

Tesla has made so many improvements over the past nine months in its quest for complete self-driving, increasing the performance accuracy of the sequel and adding new driving behaviors to capacity with each version. Drivers have been honest and open about the improvements Tesla could make. The automaker listened, trying to improve as quickly as possible in order to reach range 5 where the vehicles would drive themselves.
In addition to Musk’s review of the FSD 10 software which is expected to be rolled out tomorrow, the CEO also said the company will gradually expand the FSD test group to ensure maximum security. Tesla has made safety the top priority of its automotive expertise, making its vehicles as safe as possible, and the FSD test group has remained relatively exclusive since its inception. Tesla may be ready to make the beta more comprehensive, as more data will enter the company’s neural network, which stores actual kilometer data to increase the accuracy of the sequel.
The expansion will be gradual, based on the guarantee of maximum security

The “button,” as Tesla enthusiasts commonly called it lately, has been in the works for several months. Unfortunately, things got behind schedule and Tesla was probably waiting for things to get more robust within the sequel before expanding the test group. Now that Musk believes FSD 10 is going to “blow your mind,” the company must feel it’s time to bring the button to vehicles.
