It’s been a long and wild journey for Tessica “Gorilla Glue Girl” Brown since she posted a Tik Tok video earlier this month. explaining that she had run out of Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze Spray to straighten her hair and used Gorilla Glue spray instead.

First it was funny AF, then it turned into a story of tragedy once we learned extensive and possibly permanent damage she had done to her hair and scalp and it was going to be hell to remove the glue. After that, anyone with even a minimum of empathy had stopped laughing (for the most part) and started expressing appropriate concern for the 40-year-old’s welfare.

Fortunately, a black plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Obeng, came to the rescue and offered to undo the glue for free, and eventually, Brown was released from her predicament.

While all of this was going on, social media did what social media does: literally spin all in a bigass controversy.

Before long, rumors started circulating the web that Brown was planning to sue Gorilla Glue for his unfortunate accident – this was most likely due to a TMZ Article it suggested as much. Well, according to Brown, she “never said that” that she intended to pursue.

“I don’t understand where all the other stuff is coming from,” Brown said in a interview with ET. “No. I never said that. Again, I don’t know where this is all coming from because at this point everyone is saying it.

Of course, several media ran with the rumor and even went so far as to publish articles. Analyzing if brown is nothe existing trial had some merit.

Here’s the thing: If you’ve been paying attention to Brown’s saga on social media, you know that while many people (especially black women) have expressed empathy for Brown’s plight and are celebrating the conclusion. Triumphant over her debacle, she’s also having a lot of hate – something she talked about at length in her ET interview.

I don’t understand why anyone (especially black people) would be mad at Brown for turning lemons into lemonade.

Brown recently got a full-time agent and began to promote its own brand of “Bonded for life“Merchandise – and for one reason or another a lot of people are very crazy.

I couldn’t count the times I personally read the comment, “she shouldn’t be rewarded for her stupidity” – which is a dumb comment to make because she isn’t rewarded for sticking shit of her hair, she is being rewarded for having had the ingenuity to turn her misfortune into a sack. You can’t be mad at her “stupidity,” so also be mad that she was smart enough to make her situation positive.

Then there is her GoFundMe page which she started with an initial goal of $ 1,500 to help pay for expenses related to what she called “this unfortunate ordeal”. As of Monday, this page received over $ 23,000 in donations. According to Insider, she plans to donate at least $ 20,000 of these funds to the Restore Foundation, a noprofit foundedited by Dr Obeng. The foundation was created “for the purpose of providing reconstructive surgery to people in developing countries,” Insider reports.

So yeah, maybe it’s time we let this woman live. She’s fine now, and that’s what I’m here for.
