Well, it's official: Tetris 99 receives a physical output in the West with the Big Block DLC included as standard.
It was probably a safe bet to assume that this was happening – we had confirmation of his arrival in Japan last month, then a recent Australian note confirmed pretty much the version we are talking about now – but it's good to know with certainty.
The physical edition will include the game's main online component, which is already available for free on the eShop, as well as the Big Block DLC package that has introduced two offline modes – CPU Battle and Marathon. You will also get an individual 12-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
Of course, the Big Block downloadable content itself will benefit from several modes later this year, whether you buy it as part of this bundle or on eShop. These modes are as follows:
- Local Arena: Gather up to eight friends for a local battle!
- 2P Share Battle: Share Joy-Con controllers for a two-player game!
We do not have price information yet for the Western exit, but we know it will happen on September 20th – the same day as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
Are there any physical collectors who wish to add this to their shelves? Or are you satisfied enough with your digital version? Let us know in the comments below.
