TAOS, NEW MEXICO – The Sheriff of Taos County said late Thursday that Kylie Rae Harris, a rising Texas singer from Brazil, had caused a fatal car accident that cost Harris and a 16-year-old high school student three lives.

"At this point, I will say with the greatest certainty that Miss Cruz was an innocent victim of this senseless accident caused by Ms. Harris," said Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe, according to TaosNews.com.

Harris, who is survived by his 6 year old daughter, was in New Mexico for a show at a music festival in Taos.

The Daily Mail reported that Harris had already been convicted of CFA in which his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. As part of her sentence, she had to install a breathalyzer in her vehicle, the Daily Mail reported.
