MENA, Ark. The researchers found a Texas man missing last weekend while he was walking alone in an isolated region of Arkansas.

Scott Sawyer, Polk County Sheriff, said Joshua McClatchy, 38, of Fort Worth, was dehydrated but in a good mood when he was found late Friday. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

According to Sawyer, improved weather conditions allowed the researchers to use a National Guard helicopter equipped with infrared technology to explore the Caney Creek Wilderness area, located about 170 km south-east. west of Little Rock.

The helicopter crew spotted McClatchy. It took an hour for ground rescuers to join him and several hours to complete it.

On June 1, McClatchy had sent an SMS to his mother to tell him that he was lost and to send him help.
