The teams keep calling – but so far the Texans aren’t listening.
Despite Deshaun Watson wanting to leave Houston and demanding a trade, the Texans still insist they have no interest in leaving him, according to an ESPN report.
The report said the teams have “got the message” and privately hope Houston will change positions, but sources say they plan to remain stable and have no interest in letting Watson go.
New Texans general manager Nick Caserio and head coach David Culley have publicly stated that they have no desire to trade Watson. It seems that the organization remains firm on this position.
This could lead to an ugly standoff between the two teams, as sources close to Watson have said he has no interest in playing a cliché for the Texans again. He is under contract until 2025, but has yet to speak to Caserio or Culley.
Watson is rumored to have the Jets at the top of his list of potential destinations. Other teams that interest him are the Dolphins and Broncos.
