Hight, 32, left the bar while intoxicated and went to the home of his wife, Meredith Hight, where he opened fire and killed her and seven of her friends, announced the authorities. An officer who responded fired and killed him.
Glass knew Spencer Hight and had previously sent an SMS to another bartender while Hight sat at the bar, the investigators said.

A lawsuit filed by the families of the victims against the Bar and Glass was filed. The bar has waived its liquor license as part of a settlement with TABC.
