FIRST ON FOX: Texas Republican congress group push Gov. Greg Abbott to challenge President Biden’s newly announced vaccination warrants.
Representative Chip Roy, R-Texas, wrote a letter with nine of his colleagues from the Texas delegation to the Governor of Lone Star State calling on Abbott to “take whatever action is necessary” to block Biden’s vaccination mandate.
Abbott signed an executive order on August 25 banning vaccination warrants in Texas and pledged to push back Biden’s further actions. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has also vowed to sue the Biden administration for the warrants.

“We encourage you to use all of the powers vested in you as governor of Texas and all the tools at your disposal to ensure that the federal government does not penalize, arrest, impose fines, force or injure any Texan – or shut down any operating Texas business – as a result of these COVID-19-related warrants, ”lawmakers wrote in the letter obtained exclusively by Fox News.
Specifically, the Texas DPS and all other law enforcement entities or regulators in the state over which you control should be urged to 1) specifically refuse to cooperate with any federal official attempting to do so. abide by such warrants, and 2) take all possible steps to stop any federal official from taking action against a Texan regarding the application of such warrants, ”they continued.
“We stand by your side and are ready to work together as leaders of the people of this great state to ensure that they can exercise their rights as Texans to earn a living and seek happiness in accordance with the 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, concludes the letter.
Nine of his fellow Republicans from Texas join Roy on the letter: Reps Randy Weber, Van Taylor, John Carter, Michael Cloud, Brian Babin, Ronny Jackson, August Pfluger, Roger Williams and Pete Sessions.
Biden said he was “disappointed” to learn that Republican governors were pushing back his vaccine tenure under OSHA rule.

“I’m so disappointed,” Biden said Friday during a visit to Brookland Middle School after telling a reporter to “get down to it” regarding a question about Republicans pushing back his six-point coronavirus plan. “In particular, some Republican governors have been so good with the health of these children. So far with the health of our communities.”
Abbott also tweeted Thursday that the Lone Star State “is already working to end this takeover.”
“The federal government must stop trying to run private businesses,” Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze told local Houston ABC newspaper 13 Eyewitness News on Thursday.
“Texans and Americans have learned and mastered safe practices to protect themselves and loved ones from COVID and don’t need the government telling them how to do it,” Eze added.
