The Longhorns got off to a quick start in 2022 and most of their success has been on the offensive end of the ball. Today Texas hit with a major goal on the defensive end of the ball with the engagement of Bryan allen.
Aldo’s four-star security chose Texas over offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. Allen was previously hired with LSU for the final year, but he decided to open his recruiting in January. Allen was sued hard from the start by the Texas staff and they were able to close the deal quickly.
Allen has been a star in high school since his freshman year. In his first season at Fort Worth Southwest, Allen was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year. He transferred to Aledo in his second season and helped the powerful program win another state title by earning the honors of Defensive Newcomer of the Year in District 5-5A-Division II. In 2020, Allen was on another state championship team and won the Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year award by the Texas Sportswriters Association.
Allen is entering his senior season as one of Texas State’s most experienced prospects as a potential four-year-old starter who has played 16 games in two consecutive seasons. 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Gabe Brooks compares Allen to former Texas Safety and current Miami Dolphin Brandon jones and describes his game as follows.
“Has the construction and framework required for a Power Five security perspective. Skinny and athletic with room to eclipse the 200-pound platter. Solid sophomore production for the Texas Eternal Power and the 5A D-II State Championship team. Shows impressive anticipation traits. Diagnoses quickly against running or succeeding. Arrives with purpose and provides occasional big hits. Shows promising recovery speed. Defender of the natural center on the cover. Disruptive at the point of capture. Bi-sports athlete who runs on track (100 meters, 200 meters, relay). Adequate tester that plays faster than test times. Will have to continue to perfect the technique of covering the man and the reps. Adequate ball skills but can improve. Elite nationwide safety outlook in the 2022 class. High-profile projects with long-term NFL draft potential. “
At 6 feet and 180 pounds, Allen is ranked 6th in safety in the country and 18th in Texas, according to 247Sports Composite.

Allen joins one of the hottest classes in the country, which includes five-star quarterback Gardena (Cailf.) Junipero Serra Maalik murphy, wide receiver Frisco Liberty four stars Evan stewart, four-star ball carrier Klein Cain Jaydon Blue, Lewisville four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield, four-star Port Arthur Memorial cornerback and three-star Arlington Martin inside linebacker Trevell Johnson.
