Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (right) and Attorney General Ken Paxton on Wednesday announced a petition to overturn an emergency order requiring masks to be worn in schools, businesses and buildings across the county from Dallas.

Inventory: Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins earlier Wednesday signed an emergency order that would apply to daycares, preschools through grade 12 schools, businesses and facilities in Dallas County.

Abbott and Paxton argue that Jenkins’ actions violated Abbott’s statewide mask and vaccine ban, which he said “supersedes local rules and regulations.”
To note: A Texas judge temporarily overturned Abbott’s ban on Tuesday night to prevent it from being enforced.
What they say : “The way forward is based on personal responsibility – not government mandates,” Abbott said.
