Officials representing Oklahoma and Texas were not present Thursday at a Big 12 call to discuss schools’ reported interest in leaving the conference for the SEC, according to multiple reports.
Both Yahoo Pierre Thamel and the stadium Brett McMurphy reported that the call, made up of the league’s GMs and GMs, went without a voice from Longhorns or Sooners, further suggesting that both schools are on the verge of exiting the Big 12.

This is not uncharted territory for the Big 12. Ten years ago, the conference lost Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M and Missouri. Still, the Big 12 had Texas and Oklahoma, then added TCU and West Virginia to maintain its Power 5 status.

Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren sidestepped the issue.
