Texas school principal warns parents not to “fight mask wars in our schools” after saying one teacher had his face mask ripped off and another was reprimanded by a parent for the district coronavirus mask warrant.

Tom Leonard, superintendent of the Eanes Independent School District in Greater Austin, sent a letter to parents and staff on Tuesday alleging poor parenting behavior after the district decided to follow the county mask’s current tenure of Travis, who defies an ordinance banning such terms by the Republican government. Greg Abbott.

THE MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF CHARLESTON ON THE MANDATES OF THE SCHOOL MASK HOTS

“A parent physically assaulted a teacher by pulling a mask off her face, others shouting at a teacher to remove her mask because they could not understand what the teacher was saying while her face was covered,” Leonard explained in his letter, which was published in full by local ABC affiliate KVUE.

“This type of behavior will not be tolerated at Eanes ISD,” he continued. “Our staff are on the front lines of this pandemic; let’s give them space and grace. Please I ask everyone to be kind… don’t fight the mask wars in our schools. “

Leonard explained that although masks are mandatory, schools have “no legal method” to enforce the mandate and staff will not act like the “mask police.”

“We are all together in this pandemic,” he wrote. “If the adults choose to disagree and fight with each other (as my mother often advised my brother and me when we fought), please take her outside, out of our way. campus and outside our schools. I ask as kindly as possible: please treat everyone differently the way you would like to be treated.

Leonard did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The news comes as national debate intensifies over masks as schoolchildren return to in-person learning after summer vacation. In Florida, the board of education voted Tuesday to sanction two public school districts for defying Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ order banning mask warrants in schools.
