Texas Tech, Virginia 32, Texas Tech 29: HALFTIME
The first 20 minutes were very competitive. Both teams had their moments of glory and also traveled long periods without being offended. Ty Jerome hits a three in less than two seconds to give Virginia his lead.
Texas Tech 25, Virginia 24: 3:57 to do in the first period.
The Red Raiders took over with a pair of free throws from Kyler Edwards. A rider Matt Mooney took the lead to four. Kihei Clark stopped the push and ended a sequence in which Virginia had only one goal in six minutes. The first expectations regarding this dull and boring aspect have been overestimated. That said, there is not much room for maneuver and fast break points are rare.
Virginia 19, Texas Tech 16: 7:54 to do in the first half
It may have been a start of nervousness or just a lot of nervous energy, but the offensive began to grow. Brandone Francis has hit three straight in a 9-2 test run by Texas Tech. Francis, a submarine, leads all scorers with six. Virginia had led by 10 before the push by the Red Raiders.
Virginia 12, Texas Tech 6: 11:24 to do in the first half
It took 7:22 for Texas Tech to get his first goal – three by Davide Moretti. But the third step of Kyle Guy brought Virginia's lead to six. The Cavaliers will also be inviting De'Ander Hunter on the line after the second deadline of the media.
Virginia 9, Texas Tech 3: 12:56 to do in first period
Virginia hit a few shots. Texas Tech still has not started at 0-8. The Cavaliers are on a 7-0, limited by Braxton Key Dunk. The referee came after Ty Jerome connected to the first three of the match. The red Raiders look offended. They rush and make passes in the teeth of Virginia's defense. Chris Beard calls timeout to try to fix the problem.
Texas Tech 3, Virginia 2: 15:51 to do in the first half
As we expected, the defenses are doing well. Texas Tech had to rush twice late in the clock. The Red Raiders have no goal, but are leading after three free throws by Jarrett Culver for shots on goal. Mamade Diakite of Virginia has the only goal of the game as the teams have a combined 1: 9 shot on the field.

After 66 games of the NCAA tournament, there are two teams left.
Virginia – the No. 1 seed of the South Regional – and Texas Tech – the West Regional 3 seed – are facing for the NCAA Men's National Basketball Championship Monday in Minneapolis.
Both schools are looking for their first title.
The defense should dominate because both teams are doing a great job in harassing fouls. Red Raiders guard Jarrett Culver played in a draw against Michigan State in the semi-finals, before two big, late goals. He will be looking to carry the goalkeeper goalkeeper Matt Mooney.
For Virginia, it will likely be Kyle Guy, De'Ander Hunter and Ty Jerome who will lead. Guy, like Culver, did not have his best game on Saturday, but his three shots and three free throws allowed the Cavaliers to overtake Auburn.
