Mr Viboon Rerkasirithai, Governor of the Thai Electricity Authority (EGAT), revealed that the EGAT electric railway had been granted by the National Agency for Science Development and technology (NSTDA). Nissan Almera is the first electric vehicle prototype of the second phase of the research project to be implemented over the past year. The cost of accommodation does not exceed 200,000 baht per vehicle, batteries not included. The maximum output power of the motor is 61.86 kW, which takes about 12 to 15 hours to fully charge the battery at normal or normal charge. It can charge quickly with a three-phase charge (fast charge) only 2-3 hours. The maximum speed is 160 km / h. Operates at a distance of 150 to 200 kilometers per battery charge (with an average speed of 90 kilometers at the time).

This is to encourage Thailand to develop its own electric vehicle without resorting to foreign technology. In line with the government's policy to make Thailand the future center of electric vehicles in the region.
