That’s it: Samsung Galaxy Note series is gone, say two well-known insiders

[ad_1]

We would hear conflicting reports on the fate of the Galaxy Note series. Until recently, productivity-focused flagships were the only Samsung phones to support the S Pen. New Galaxy S21 Ultra is also stylus compatible, and Samsung has also confirmed that digital pen integration will be extended to more devices in the future.

Previously, it was reported that Samsung was expanding S Pen support to other phones to migrate existing Note users to the S and Z series. The idea apparently is to keep the S family as the H1 flagship. and replace the Note line with foldable Z phones as H2 flagships.

So, it was pretty obvious that the days of the Galaxy Note were numbered. What wasn’t so clear, however, was whether we’ll see a successor to the Note 20 this year. A recent report had indicated that Samsung could only launch the Galaxy Note 21 Ultra and that too without the usual fanfare.

Now it looks like the chaebol has finally made their decision regarding the Note series and the decision is sure to disappoint a lot of fans. The not-so-cryptic latest tweet from Venerated Leaker Ice Universe suggests that the iconic Note series has come to an end and that there won’t be a Galaxy Note 21.

Display industry insider Ross Young also corroborated the rumor. He suggests the Note 20 FE might still be on the cards. The device has already been implicitly confirmed by Samsung.
Sales of the Note and S series were apparently disappointing in 2020 and dropping the former could help Samsung boost sales of the Galaxy S21 series.
